The Better Buildings Hub is your one-stop resource for creating energy-efficient, climate-ready, and people-centered buildings.
Let’s face it – sustainability can sometimes feel like a maze of buzzwords. “decarbonization,” “resilience,” “net zero”… but what does it all really mean for our homes, businesses, schools, and community centers…….our lives?
At its core, clean energy means powering our lives with renewable sources (solar, wind, geothermal, etc.) instead of fossil fuels (gas, oil, coal, etc.) that pollute and disappear once extracted.

Green Building United was selected to join the Clean Energy Group’s Navigator Program, which helps communities maneuver clean energy, especially solar and battery storage. Our first step was a regional assessment, and here’s what we found: Philadelphians want renewable energy, but don’t always know where to start. Many know solar and batteries can keep the lights on during outages yet rely on fossil-fuel generators simply because the alternatives feel out of reach.
That’s why we’re launching the Clean Energy Navigator through the Better Buildings Hub to serve as a toolkit to make clean energy approachable, local, and doable.
1. Resiliency Center Infographic: Learn how to be equipped to serve your community during extreme weather.
2. Solar FAQs: This guide will help you answer all things solar from how to get started to financing and installer information.
3. Clean Energy Case Studies: See what’s working locally.
4. Clean Energy Funding Assistance: Find grants and incentives to power your project.
5. Submit Your Clean Energy Story: Tell us about your clean energy journey!
Clean energy shouldn’t be confusing or exclusive; it should be a path every community can navigate. We’re here to help you take the first step.
